A Little about me
Welcome to my journey of learning all about AWS and everything it can do. But I don’t want to get ahead of myself. My name is Emmanuel, I am a recent college grad, with a degree in Professional Security Studies focusing on computer security. Even after obtaining my degree, I felt lost and didn’t know what direction I should focus on. I serve on the side during college, and it paid the bills, but I felt like I should be doing more or at least I wanted to. I called my cousin for advice, he does government work, sales contracts and things. He told me how he wanted a change in his career as well and was looking into the IT field. I remember how excited he was trying to explain cloud computing to me. Didn’t really get all the jargon and concepts but he was passionate about building a future in cloud computing or at least in IT. It was a great conversation, but I really didn’t think too much about it in the following months, till I was in full Indeed, get a job mode. Searched the website for entry level positions but it was hard and discouraging without any experience. Upset about the constant silence from would be employers and just where I was in life, I knew I needed to make a change.
So went on YouTube and started learning about the cloud, what it is? how does it work? who provisions it? YouTube is powerful and dangerous thing, because I found myself in a black hole of information, completely overwhelmed and didn’t know where to started. Through the research I learned that Amazon is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. Reading and learning more I realized I don’t have to find/follow a random person on YouTube, whose credentials I can’t 100% believe, I can go straight to the source and that what I am doing. All that to say I have been inspired by AWS, I want to know more and do more. So I have decided to try and get certified through the learning opportunities I found online on Amazon. Thus, bring me to start this blog. The purpose of this blog is to not only get hands on experience using the different services AWS provides like LightSail and Route 53. I want this website to also keep me motivated because it mine. Plus I think it will be cool to look back at this someday, but for now eye forward. I want to write about the ups and downs, successes and failures, doing something different or out of comfort zone is scary. But I won’t allow that to stop me, because in reality I just want to LEVEL UP, not only in life but in general. Wish me luck on this journey and hopefully I can inspire someone else to take shot a something new and exciting. More to come stay tuned.
